Ode to Mother Nature

Nature's music delights

On those warm summer nights

Storms roll in so fast

Feel the wind hear the roar

Lightning dances so bright

Across cloudy skies

Storms brewing over hills

Water comes rushing down

Too much for dry ground

Leaves colorful turning

Before floating on down

Play in the pile

Fall, my favorite time

Warm days with a cool breeze

And colorful leaves

Blanketed for winter

Warming sunshine breaks through

Playful fun ahead

I remember the storms

That came midwinter nights

Leaving snow so bright

Glittering and shining

Reflecting winters light

Icicles abound

Can you smell in the air

Fresh new flowers growing

Winter melts away

The first flowers of spring

And return of bird song

Signal warmer days

Give us season’s mother

Overwhelming nature

We learn to love you
