When I'm Through Here

I know just where I will go

When I’m through here

With you dear

I know just where I will go

When I’m through here

With you dear

Slipping home fast through the night

Before the breaking of dawn’s early light

To the house I still call my home

Even though I live there so all alone

Picket fence still fancies the yard

Grasses color is browning it’s so hard

The sounds of family are all gone

Just trying my damnedest to carry on

I know just where I will go

When I’m through here

With you dear

I know just where I will go

When I’m through here

With you dear

Wondrous movements swaying so free

There was a time when my wife danced for me

Kids slept in a near darkened room

Memories of sweet flowers in bloom

Since they left I’ve nowhere to turn

Resting waiting in that marbled cold urn

Can’t believe it’s nearly five years

When will I find relief from salty tears

I don’t know where I will go

When I’m through here

With you dear

I don’t know where I will go

When I’m through here

With you dear…through here…

When I'm Through Here

--------------------

The exact origin I cannot say, it came to me one night when I was in a dark writing mood. The story of a man realizing his family was all gone and he could not overcome the lonliness left behind.
